Mwos FC gains Northern Region D1 promotion

NORTON: Mwos FC celebrated in style their promotion into
the upper NRSL division one league when they drew nil all with Norton Bullets
in a lively local derby.

Football Club said the whole Norton soccer fans were on cloud nine with the
promotion that will bring division one
football to Norton
“We are pleased that we managed to
achieve the goal of getting promoted into division one. We are alive to the
fact that division one league play is tough but we are promising our fans that
we will not be there to add numbers,” he said.
He also said that they are going to withstand
the pressure in the more demanding division one league.
“We are happy that we managed to attain
our goal to get promoted,’’ said Gift Chari, the team manager.
Zimbabwe Football Association Mashonaland West Provincial chairman,
Derick Matapuri congratulated Mwos FC on its promotion into the league.
“We are proud with Mwos FC’s promotion as the team displayed professionalism in its affairs in the season. We are happy to see them get promoted and we wish them the best as we believe they are going for greater heights if they continue with that same level of dedication,” he said

Mwos Football Club is bankrolled by
Mwos Betting Company which is a plus for the team.
The team was formed in 2019 and was
hugely affected by the advent of Covid-19 though they managed to pick
themselves and gunned for honours.
Adela Smart, soccer fan from Norton
said she was confident that Mwos will bring premier league matches to Norton.
“With the level of football Mwos FC is
displaying, it is a matter of time before they bring to Norton the premier
league matches. We believe they are getting into division one to prove their
worth,” she said.
Mwos FC join Division 2A league log
leaders Omnia Football Club in the Northern Region Division One.
Mashonaland West province now boasts of
more than five teams in the lucrative Northern Region Division One league.
